Accepting your emotions for what they are, without wanting to change or fix them, is a difficult practice. We’re often taught that “negative” emotions are bad and shouldn’t be acknowledged – that only expressing “positive” emotions is good and should be your goal. But this idea leads to the repression of your emotions and a black-and-white perception of what you’re feeling. Am I feeling good or bad?
